DFIHA Sponsorship

Delta Stars hockey offers girls more than just a chance to play—it gives them a space to grow, connect, build confidence and mutual respect, and develop teamwork and leadership skills both on and off the ice. For some families, the costs of equipment, travel, and registration can be a major barrier to participation. That’s why we’re committed to providing as much support as we can for every girl who dreams of playing hockey to be part of the game in Delta.

Please contact us (president@deltastars.ca) to discuss sponsorship opportunities.

Thank you Initiating Sponsors!

By partnering with DFIHA early, these sponsors played a direct and meaningful role in launching a quality ice hockey program designed specifically for girls in Delta. Your contributions support young female athletes grow their skills and confidence, as well as a lifelong love of the game. Thank you so much.

About DFIHA

Delta Female Ice Hockey Association (DFIHA), incorporated in 2025, is Delta's first hockey association dedicated to girls in the game. We are proud to offer a safe and welcoming space where Delta girls learn, play and love the game of hockey, regardless of skill level.

Some background info on DFIHA:

  • Evolved from the long-standing Delta Stars program under the SDMHA and from girls playing with the NDMHA.
  • Now operating independently as a non-profit association focused on girls in the game and led by a 100% volunteer board.
  • Focused on supporting and growing female hockey in Delta and Canada.
  • Currently offering recreational (house) level only; we plan to provide more competitive (rep) opportunities as registration numbers grow.
  • Practices and games will be played in Delta facilities. As much as possible, girls will play on teams and in arenas close to their homes.
  • Support and provide free, Try Hockey events to introduce new players to the game where possible.

Running a successful female hockey program comes with a unique set of challenges that require ongoing support, creativity, and collaboration. Rising ice rental costs, the high price of specialized equipment, and costs associated with securing inclusive coaching can combine to create barriers to access for young athletes. Addressing these challenges is essential to keeping hockey accessible, equitable, and inspiring for every girl who wants to play. DFIHA costs include:

  • Ice rental costs in municipal facilities.
  • Private ice (e.g. Planet Ice) as necessary to fill gaps in access to community ice.
  • Specialized player and goalie skills development coaching.
  • Potentially higher per player administrative costs, as girls' hockey in Delta grows and develops.
  • Ongoing TeamSnap and website costs.

DFIHA’s current funding model:

  • Grants (limited, unpredictable)
  • Donations and sponsorships (this is where you come in!)
  • Registration fees

Delta Stars Sponsorship

It takes a community to grow programs and opportunities for girls playing ice hockey. We’re looking for partners who share our values of access, inclusion, and opportunity — helping girls in Delta to reach their potential and inspire the next generation.

DFIHA Sponsorship Packages

As a 100% volunteer organization, every dollar raised goes straight back to Delta Stars players — fueling confidence, camaraderie and dreams across our community.

Subsidize uniform and gear costs

Uniforms aren’t just gear—they’re a symbol of commitment, and every girl deserves to wear hers with confidence. Consider sponsoring a team or the entire association in exchange for your sponsor logo on Delta Stars jerseys and recognition on our website, social media and newsletters.

Subsidize ice costs

Renting ice is the single largest expense for our association, and while it’s essential to every aspect of hockey—from practices to games to skill development—the costs can be substantial. Financial support helps us secure consistent, high-quality ice time, which is critical to maintaining strong programming and giving every player the opportunity to grow. With your help, we can keep hockey accessible and ensure our teams have the space they need to thrive and develop.

Subsidize skills development costs

DFIHA is seeking sponsorship support to enhance skills development opportunities for female hockey players in our community. Your sponsorship funding will be directed to specialized player and goalie skills development sessions led by professional coaches.

We are proud to invest in our players, and with your support, we can continue to provide development‑focused programming that empowers girls to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.
